Based in the Wiltshire market town of Melksham, we are well-known throughout the immediate and wider community, with a strong local presence and reputation for friendliness and professionalism.

On 1st February 2020, we were acquired by Melville Burbage Insurance Services, a highly renowned firm of independent insurance brokers based in Newbury, giving us access to an even greater range of specialisation and capabilities, especially within the fields of construction, technology & life science and social welfare.
Thanks to Melville Burbage, we now have even greater buying power, enabling us to secure the widest cover at a highly competitive price, whilst still retaining our identity, location and staff, ensuring we continue to provide customers with the local, friendly service they have come to expect over the years.

Our Team
Darren became Branch Director following the acquisition by Jensten Insurance Brokers in May 2024, having worked for Melville Burbage since January 1990.
With particular expertise in the Construction and Technology sectors, Darren works with Commercial Clients, servicing existing policies, handling new business and claims, and providing risk advice by phone, email or face to face in the office or at a client premises. Darren brings experience, enthusiasm and plenty of hard work to the table and particularly enjoys spending time with clients – understanding their needs, concerns and requirements, and providing appropriate advice and solutions. He is also responsible for managing and supporting the team, ensuring the company’s core ethos of providing exceptional customer care and service is maintained.
Darren lives in Whitchurch, Hampshire and, when not at work, is a music lover and collector of vinyl and enjoys spending time with his wife, children and fox red Labrador. He’s also a keen Spurs fan, runs regularly and admits to still playing football on occasion but only just!
Layla has worked for Melksham Insurance Brokers since November 2016, having worked within the brokering sector for some twelve years. She particularly enjoys working at Melksham as she finds it busy and friendly, with customers continually calling in to discuss their insurance requirements. As an Office Manager, her responsibilities involve looking after the day-to-day requirements of clients, which includes handling renewals, quotations, new business and general administration. Whether working face to face, or via email, post or telephone, she enjoys all aspects of the job and works hard to ensure clients are always happy. When not working, Layla likes running, socialising, looks after her young daughter and taking family holidays.
As Commercial Account Handler, Justin is responsible for the printing and engineering sector, dealing with new business, adjustments, renewals and queries for a wide range of small and medium-sized enterprises. When required, he also supports the Personal Lines departments in both the Newbury and Melksham offices.
Starting his career at the age of 18 within an insurance company, Justin worked his way up to the position of Branch Manager, which involved running various offices, before joining Melville Burbage in 2010. He holds a Certificate in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute (Cert CII) giving him a thorough understanding of general insurance principles, regulatory requirements and the key disciplines of underwriting and claims.
Justin particularly enjoys the diversity of his role at Melville Burbage, saying that while each day can be different, with its own challenges, he finds it very rewarding providing customers with support, guidance and assistance. Describing himself as a good communicator that is well-organised, friendly, personable and diligent, Justin’s personal goals are to grow his book of business, stand out from the crowd and continue to challenge himself in his chosen path.
Living equi-distant from both Newbury and Melksham offices, in Royal Wootten Bassett, Justin is a keen tennis player within the LTA Swindon & District League and his home town tennis club, although says his main interest is his family and spending time with his beautiful wife and three children.
Tom is a Commercial Account Handler at Melville Burbage, having joined the team in April 2021. He works closely with clients across the commercial sector, handling renewals, new business, and general enquiries to ensure tailored and reliable insurance solutions. Known for his fun, energetic, engaging approach, along with his devoted attitude to his job. Tom enjoys building strong client relationships. Outside of work, he is a big fan of football, American football, and has a passion for dogs, cars, and motorbikes.”
Emma hugely enjoys her role of Insurance Advisor and has worked at Melksham Insurance Brokers since August 2015. Her duties include making sure renewals are out on time, arranging quotations and generally ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Having previously worked in a Call Centre, she finds working at Melksham much friendlier and particularly appreciates the face-to-face contact with clients. Emma describes herself as personable, organised and able to deal with people on all levels, ensuring she provides an exceptional level of personal service. Out of work, Emma enjoys horse riding and socialising with friends.
Danielle is an Account Executive in the Melksham office and has been part of the Jensten business for over seven years. She is known for being efficient, responsive, and consistently delivering a high level of customer service to her clients.
Outside of work, Danielle is passionate about reading, travel, fitness, and food. Whether she’s exploring a new book or discovering her next travel destination, she loves broadening her horizons. When she’s not doing that, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and staying active.
